One would imagine this will be gone before tomorrow- maybe even within hours- but apparently Google’s 2007 boasts of beating Google bombers were unfounded.

US President Barack Obama found himself the latest victim of a high-profile Google bomb that saw a massive spike in searches for ‘worst failure ever’.

At present, typing that particular phrase into Google brings up the above result as its first.

The source of the bomb has not yet been discovered but consensus is that word was spread through Republican and Conservative forums and websites.

Google bombs are created when enough links of a certain phrase (in this case, ‘worse failure ever’) are targeted at a certain web destination (in this case, the Whitehouse website.)

Get searching now. Chances are this will be gone before tomorrow has even started to draw to a close.

America loves July 4, it’s when they gained their independence. Now, every year, there are huge celebrations with Uncle Sam dress and fireworks- probably. This year, John McCain’s running partner and former Republican front-runner for the 2012 elections, Sarah Palin, has resigned with 16-months left to her term.

The governor of Alaska, 45, was expected to announce on Friday that she would not seek re-election after her term ends next year, but instead shocked many by announcing she would be stepping down as of July 25.

Some have speculated that Palin’s resignation may be preempting a scandal. One tweet from the US this morning said “[I'm] hearing that there is more to the Palin resignation. Is she resigning to be Prez or because of a new scandal about to hit?!”

Barack Obama seems to be in the world’s news more for how “cool” he is than any political policies or agenda.

This week, President Obama has found his ninja-like fly killing skills viewed on YouTube across the globe.

Since taking office in January 2009, Obama has had a number of ‘YouTube’ moments- some of them less favourable than others- that have boosted his cool rating to new heights.

What is it with John McCain? Even something that, on the surface, looks like it might be something intended to support him, turns out to be an ironic parody of him. Poor, poor Republican.

While the Cool McCain song may lack musical ingenuity it’s certainly a catchy tune and get stuck in the head really easily. The pictures that go along with it provide all-round light entertainment.

Definitely worth a watch or two.
