Viral Friday # 2

Viral Fridays

This week we’ve got offerings from the Jonas Webcast, Google, JLS and more…

Firstly, our five Wolfram Alpha facts about today are:

  1. This is the 163rd day of the year
  2. The moon is a waning gibbous
  3. Actor Scott Thompson is 50 today
  4. There are no official holidays or major observances related to today
  5. It is in the 24th week of the year

There’s some sort of competition- probably the type that wins prestige, not prizes- organised by Google. If you’ve got a creative idea get it filmed and upload it before June 22. On that Friday we will give you the list of our 5 favourite submissions as part of our Viral Friday feature.

The most viewed video on YouTube this week is gracious XFactor losers, JLS. Not quite Take That; very nearly Backstreet Boys; certainly with a strong following- I still see people wearing those hoodies all over the place.

quite a terrible video and perhaps even more disturbing than the fat guy doing it on Britain’s Got Talent, but apparently people like to see it. What would Walt Disney think?

Read more about 2 Girls 1 Duck here. The most bizarrely entertaining viral out there at the moment. Why is it popular? Can’t quite put our fingers on it…but that duck has certainly got something.

This collaboration somewhat blows Ciara and JT out of the water. If you close your eyes, it may be difficult to know which is actually singing.

  1. [...] By Ben Hall on August 6th, 2009 A fantastically simple idea with some absolutely mind-blowing results- Google deserve big pats on the back for their Chrome logo competition. [...]
